ATTIRE: whatever you’d like! If you would like to dress up for one event, this would be the one, but we also plan to play in the creek and such so really whatever suits you best! I recommend bringing a bathing suit if you want to play in the water! It is also likely to rain in the afternoon so bring an umbrella or rain coat or rain apparatus of your choice if desired!

The ceremony will be quaker style, in which people are welcome to say something, if they’d like. At some point, Carson and I will say our vows and that will be the end of that part! We expect this to take about 1.5 hours. We’ll then have the BBQ and play and just hang out by the creek, maybe play croquet or slack line etc. No alcohol is provided but people can bring their own.
REQUESTS:
This ceremony is limited to 50 people MAX and 10 cars. We might need to coordinate cars and perhaps shuttle some people to the site. Please carpool and speak with us about driving plans. Thank you!
We have folding chairs for everyone. You only need to bring your camp chair if you prefer to have it.
Depending on the creek level that weekend, if you have a tube or raft and would like to float the river, please bring it! We’ll have a few. Children are welcome to float with parent supervision.
We will likely need a few hands to set up around 9 or 9:30. The same is true for take down at the end. It’s not a whoooole lot, here’s most or all of the list. If this is something you can help with, please let me know.

=== SUNDAY 7/21 ===
LOCATION: Lyons, CO (Lavern M. Johnson Park: 600 Park Dr, Lyons, CO 80540)
we have reserved both the WPA shelter as well as the St. Vrain shelter. When you arrive, if there is a person at the gate tell them you are part of a reservation for the “Candelaresi Family Reunion.” Keep going along the path towards the creek and eventually you will run into us. (Or try giving us a call.)
TIMING: around noon!
ATTIRE: something to play games and be comfortable in! I recommend bringing a bathing suit to play in the water!
FOOD: potluck! (If coming from out of town we can coordinate a Costco run or suggest places to pick stuff up from)
DRINKS: BYO; no alcohol allowed in park
PLEASE NOTE — carpooling: This park fills up on weekend during the summer. If there is a person at the gate tell them you are part of the “Candelaresi family reunion” reservation. Also I recommend (perhaps request?) people carpool; see the last note for information more about parking.
PLEASE NOTE — fire danger: The fire danger is considered high and there is no grilling allowed. Please bring potluck items that are already cooked or don’t need to be. Thank you!
WHAT: A potluck picnic in the park. We have 2 shelters rented that have tables. Our limit for this is 130 people (which we don’t expect to have) and we’re inviting family and friends!
We hope to play games (soccer, croquet, more); there is a huge playground for children; there’s a creek to play in or sit by; we’ll have a few board games and cards available; I’ll likely bring a guitar and encourage others to bring an instrument of choice and desire!
Parking at this park: is $3/hour and the lot often fills up in the summer. I recommend carpooling. It might be better to just look for a spot in town and walk over to the park. There is a lot of street parking around Lyons. Here’s a few location suggestions
Just outside the park entrance on Railroad Ave by Lyon’s Town Hall and the Post office you can park on weekends! Here’s a screenshot of the map, red indicates where to park.
Along 5th Ave as it goes south out of town and eventually becomes S St. Vrain Dr/Route 7. Here’s a screenshot.
By my house at 139 Kelling Dr 80540 you can park all around the corner of my neighbor's blue house near Mojo Taqueria. If parking on Kelling, only park on the north side of the street. Here's a screenshot of the map.
The northwest corner of Stickney and 4th is another friendly place to park and will probably have a few spots. Here's a screenshot of the map.
You could also park at Bohn Park (another park in Lyons). It is the same rate for parking, but you get a nice walk along the St. Vrain to get to the west edge of town then cross the street over to Lavern M. Johnson.
